Bringing London Market careers to life

Bringing London Market careers to life

In September, the LMG ran a highly successful event for 50 career advisors. The day was designed to bring the London Insurance Market to life and highlight the range of careers on offer.

Teresa Bentley from the LMG worked closely with Deborah Finch from the IUA to create an interactive day, which included a tour of Lloyd’s followed by a series of presentations held in SCOR’s auditorium that engaged the attendees.  The highlight of which was a play where market practitioners acted out a marine broking and claim scenario, followed by a Q&A with the audience.

The roleplay was overwhelmingly rated as the most valuable part of the day, and the attendees appreciated the opportunity to discuss careers in the London Market with the people from a wide range of roles.  Attendee feedback included: ‘The best career event I’ve ever attended’ and ‘an outstanding event’.  On the back of the day the LMG has been invited to attend ten careers events at schools, colleges and universities, and there are plans to make it an annual event.
