TODAY THE LONDON MARKET GROUP (LMG) ANNOUNCED THE APPOINTMENT OF TWO NEW BOARD MEMBERS: PAUL JARDINE, EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXPERIENCE OFFICER OF XL GROUP AND MATTHEW WILSON GROUP CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF BRIT.
Paul and Matthew were nominated by the LMA Board as representatives of the managing agency community. Each association is represented by up to five members, including the Chairs and Chief Executive Officers, in order to ensure that the different sectors of the market are being represented.
Nicolas Aubert, Chairman of the LMG said: “We are delighted that Paul and Matthew are joining the Board. Their breadth and depth of experience both in our market and the wider insurance world will be invaluable as we drive forward our growth and modernisation agenda.
“Everything that we are doing draws heavily on market practitioners who are volunteering their time. We have a tremendous Board comprised of market leaders – offering strong governance and insight. Each workstream is supported by key market figures. A market that can call upon those skills, and be given access to them in such abundance, has a lot to be positive about.”
Paul Jardine was previously Catlin’s Chief Operating Officer and has responsibility for XL Group’s Communications & Marketing function, Claims and Distribution Strategy. Paul joined Catlin in 2001 with responsibility for the development of new financial products. He was appointed Chief Executive of the Catlin Syndicate in 2003 and Chief Operating Officer of Catlin in 2004.
Matthew Wilson began his career with Lloyd's in 1988 and joined Brit in 1999. He was appointed as CEO of Brit Global Specialty in May 2008. Matthew became a member of the Executive Management Committee in January 2009 and, in January 2017, was appointed Group CEO.
