Building a diverse, dynamic workforce


The talent and diversity workstream work includes:

Talent survey

  • We partnered with Deloitte to create and undertake the first market-wide talent survey at the end of 2015, to identify skills shortages across the market in the short, medium and long term
  • Over 560 people from 17 different business functions responded, and 16 interviews with senior leaders from across the market were undertaken
  • A report on the findings was published on 9th May 2016

London Insurance Life

On the 24th January 2017, LMG launched the London Insurance Life (@LIL) campaign to attract a new generation of diverse talent to the London Market. The campaign comprises of three main elements:

  1. @LIL social media – Instagram, Facebook and Twitter pages bring to life what it is like to work in the market and promotes entry level jobs and schemes
  2. @LIL Ambassador programme – volunteers from around the London Market promote the campaign at careers events and within the market
  3. Careers events – targeting diversity and desired skill sets, promote careers in the London Market and the @LIL pages at LMG run and attendance at careers events

    @LIL was a finalist for the SCOR Diversity and Talent Initiative of the Year Award at the 2017 Insurance Day London Market Awards.

Action plan

We have developed an action plan based on the finding of the talent survey. Key initiatives include:

  • Promoting the London Market as an employer outside our market – focusing on those roles and capabilities where we have identified skills shortages
  • Working with Inclusion@Lloyd’s to showcase examples of diversity and inclusion best practice
