Clare has been in the London Market Insurance industry for over 25 years and has held senior positions at three of the four largest insurance brokers in the London Market. In her early career she was a London Market Reinsurance broker focusing on advising Lloyd’s Syndicates on their reinsurance programmes, but for the last 10 years her focus has been on operations.
Prior to joining the LMG, Clare was at JLT Specialty Limited where she was Head of Operations. In her role at JLT she was instrumental in implementing PPL and JLT’s Brexit plan, as well as being active on the TOM Working Group and the strategic design authority.
Chris has worked in the London Insurance Market for over a decade where his particular focus has been on market reform and modernisation matters. After graduating from UEA where he read Business Management, Chris started his career at the reinsurance firm, Guy Carpenter, as a claims technician and then moved on to business insurance system processing at Lockton, the world’s largest independently owned broker. After combining both technical and systems experience, Chris was offered a position at the broker trade association LIIBA (London & International Insurance Brokers’ Association) as a business analyst in 2007.
Chris worked on a number of market modernisation projects for a period of 8 years where he moved on through the company to become a Project Manager and then finally an Associate Director in 2012.
Chris joined the London Market Group (LMG) in January 2015 in order to move his focus from representing brokers, to representing an entire market. Chris is currently the secretary to a number of senior cross market boards focusing on London's modernisation and growth agenda. He also manages the cross market guidance standards and acts a market liaison to support various modernisation initiatives.
Barry joined Alexander Howden in 1978 and worked initially within the Aviation Reinsurance team later as a Treaty Technician moving to Non-Marine Reinsurance but now as a Claims Manager.
Whilst heading the specially created WTC Claims response team Barry became involved with establishing the first Market repository for the exchange of the large loss reports. This led to a general involvement in modernisation and in 2005 joined the Aon central modernisation team. Whilst in the team Barry was the focal point for implementing ECF, A&S which evolved into the delivery eAccounts and forging partnerships using Ruschlikon messaging.
Barry joined the London Market Group (LMG) in January 2015 to carry this knowledge into the central modernisation arena and supports the AAC and CSRP Steering Groups amongst others additionally acting as a subject matter expert as required.
LMG lead for Communications and Business Evironment Workstream working with HMT, DIT and Regulators to promote the London Market globally.
Femi has worked in the London Market for 6 years in various organisations and roles. Her current focus is on diversity and inclusion through career events and the use of social media. On a day to day basis she manages the @londoninsurancelife account.
Prior to working at LMG, Femi studied International Relations Msci at the University of Nottingham (UK and Malaysia), and also worked at the UNHCR where she was a refugee resettlement assistant. After completing her masters she went on to do the graduate scheme at AIG and specialised in trade credit.
